PixGrab privacy policy

Last updated: 26 October 2026

PixGrab is a Chrome extension for taking screenshots, picking colors and measuring pages. This page explains what it stores and where data goes. The short version: everything stays on your computer, unless you choose to email a grab through your own Mailgun account.

What PixGrab stores on your computer

All of this is stored with Chrome's local storage on your device. It is not synced to us and we have no server that receives it.

What PixGrab sends over the internet

Nothing, unless you turn on email. If you connect your own Mailgun account and press Send, PixGrab sends the grabs you selected, your note, and the page titles and addresses of those grabs to Mailgun's API (api.mailgun.net or api.eu.mailgun.net) using your API key, so Mailgun can deliver the email to the recipients you chose. Mailgun's own privacy policy applies to that delivery.

PixGrab does not use analytics, tracking, advertising or any other third-party service, and it does not sell or share data with anyone.

Page access

PixGrab only works on a tab when you start it there, by clicking its button or pressing one of its shortcuts. It reads the visible part of that tab to make the screenshot, the color picker or the ruler, and does nothing on pages you do not use it on.

Removing your data

Delete grabs from the gallery, clear colors from the popup, or clear the email settings on the Settings page. Removing the extension from Chrome deletes everything PixGrab stored.
